Reusing an Email from a Deactivated Account
When an employee leaves your team, it's best practice to deactivate their account in Yapi Leap for patient privacy. You may, though, have a new employee that takes over their email account and needs to use that email for their own Leap login. Since two Leap users can't use the same email address to log in, follow the instructions below to repurpose the deactivated user Leap account for your new employee.
In the left-hand menu, click Settings and select Users.
Navigate to the Deactivated Users tab and search or scroll the page to find the user that's left your practice.
Click on the user to open their profile page.
Update the all of the fields in the General Info tab to the new user's information except for their email address:
First Name
Last Name
Mobile Number
User Type (User or Admin)
Position (Dental Assistant, Dentist, Front Office, Hygienist, or Office Manager)
Click Save General Info.
Optional: Select the User Info tab and update:
Eaglesoft ID - Select your new employee's Eaglesoft ID from the dropdown menu.
Preferred Name - If a user has a preferred name entered here, Leap includes it in parentheses on their profile page so you know what they usually go by. Leap also uses this name in place of the their first name when logging their activity. For example, if a staff member's name is Nathan and their Preferred Name is Nate, the texts and emails they've sent and the templates they've made will show the name Nate, not Nathan.
Color - Use the drop-down menu to select a color for the user. This helps everyone on your team easily identify each person's activity like messages they've sent and templates they've made.
Click Save User Info.
Click Reactivate. Then click Yes to confirm you want to reactivate the account. You'll then see a brief message in the lower left-hand corner confirming the user has been reactivated.
Direct your new employee to my.yapiapp.com
and have them click Forgot Password? Ask them to enter the email address for the reactivated account and click Continue to send themselves a password reset email.
Once they receive the email, direct the employee to follow the prompts in the password reset email to enter a new password and log into Leap.
