Making a Form Multi-Language

Yapi Leap lets you provide your forms to patients in two additional languages (Spanish and German, for now) and they can pick their language when they get the form! To start, you'll need a translated, digital copy of the questions on your form. Then, use the instructions below to add the translated questions to your form in Leap.

Note

We recommend you have your forms translated by a native speaker in your office or by purchasing translations through a reputable service.  Yapi doesn't provide translation services.

Tip

Did you know? All of Leap's pre-installed standard forms are already available to your patients in Spanish!

  1. Have a digital copy of your translated form ready to go. You'll copy and paste each translated question into the Form Editor in step 12.

  2. Click Settings from the menu on the left and select Practice Settings.

  3. Click Forms Library and Editor.

  4. Scroll down to find your form and click on its name.

    • Optional: If your library has a lot of forms, use the search bar to search forms by name or click the filter icon Filter icon. to filter your list of forms by language or form status.

  5. Click Edit. If you don't see the Edit button, click Inactivate first, then the Edit button will appear so you can click it. This opens the form in the Form Editor so you can make changes.

  6. Click Settings.

  7. Click Languages and toggle the Multi languages form slider to the right. It'll turn orange once it's enabled.

  8. In the Select Available Languages dropdown, select the languages you're going to provide translations for.

  9. Optional: Use the Select default language dropdown arrow if you'd like to set the form to display in a language other than English by default. (Patients will see the form in this language by default but still be able to select English as an option).

  10. Click Done.

  11. Click the Translations Translations icon. button (it probably says "English" right now) and select the language you want to provide a translation for. Your form now shows placeholders for all the questions you've already added in English.

  12. For each question, click the question in the Form Editor and copy and paste your translation (from Step 1) into it. Each time you click away from a question, Leap will automatically save it and you'll see a message confirming this at the bottom of the page.

  13. Repeat step 12 for all the questions on your form.

  14. Optional: If you'd like to provide translations in an additional language, click the Translations Translations icon. button and select the language. Then repeat Steps 1, 11, and 12 above for this language.

  15. Once you're done adding all the translated questions, preview & activate your form to use with patients!
