How Patients Schedule Online

With Yapi Leap, you can set up Online Scheduling for all your patients so they can book at their convenience and you can get more done! Leap's Online scheduling allows you to set up different treatments for new patients, existing (non-recall) patients, and recall patients - and their experience with Online Scheduling will differ based on the type of patient they are:

How New Patients Schedule Online

Important

You must have Online Scheduling enabled for New Patients for them to schedule online.

  1. New patients can schedule online via a link or widget you add to your practice website.

  2. Once they click your link or widget, they'll select "I'm a New Patient," follow the prompts to enter their information, and pick an appointment date and time.

  3. This appointment then schedules directly to Eaglesoft and you'll get a notification in Leap that a patient has booked online.

  4. Patients see a screen confirming their appointment has been scheduled and Leap automatically sends the patient an email confirming this as well.

How Existing, Non-Recall Patients Schedule Online

Important

You must have Online Scheduling enabled for Existing Patients for them to schedule online.

  1. Similar to new patients, existing patients who aren't due for a recall can schedule via a link or widget you add to your practice website.

    Tip

    We know your team is likely to manually book appointments for existing patients since they often need to schedule specific procedures. But this is a great option for patients who need an emergency visit or a consultation for cosmetic services like whitening.

  2. Once patients click your link or widget, select "I'm a Returning Patient." They'll then verify they're identity as a patient of yours by:

    1. Entering their mobile phone or email address so Leap can send them a unique scheduling link.

    2. Opening the link in the text or email they receive.

    3. Entering their date of birth to confirm their identity.

  3. Patients can then follow the prompts to enter their information and pick an appointment date and time.

  4. This appointment schedules directly to Eaglesoft and you'll get a notification in Leap that a patient has booked online.

  5. Patients see a screen confirming their appointment has been scheduled and Leap automatically sends the patient an email confirming this as well.

How Recall Patients Schedule Online

Because patients due for recall need a specific treatment scheduled to make sure their insurance covers it at the right time, recall patients schedule differently:

You must have Recall Reminders and Online Scheduling for Recall Patients enabled in Leap for recall patients to schedule using this process.

  1. If you have Recall Reminders enabled in Leap and treatments set up, patients automatically get a reminder when they're due for a recall treatment. This reminder includes a unique link that a patient can click to schedule only the recall appointment they're due for.

  2. Once patients click the link, they'll enter their date of birth and verify their identity.

  3. They'll follow the prompts to pick an appointment date and time for their recall treatment.

  4. This appointment then schedules directly to Eaglesoft and you'll get a notification in Leap that a patient has booked online.

  5. Patients see a screen confirming their appointment has been scheduled and Leap automatically sends the patient an email confirming this as well.
