Enabling Insurance Verification Automation

You've made the smart choice to use Yapi's Insurance Verification feature; now let us make insurance checks even easier by having Leap do it automatically! 😁 Once you have automation set, Leap automatically verifies a patient's insurance at 7PM Pacific Time, 1- 7 days before the patient's appointment, depending on your settings. Use the instructions below to enable automatic insurance verification checks.

Some important notes about insurance verification automation:

  • If a patient has multiple appointments on the same day, don't worry. Leap will only run one automated Insurance Verification check per patient per appointment day.

  • Once automation is set, Leap checks a patient's eligibility for existing appointments at 7pm Pacific time the day you enable automation. For any appointments scheduled going forward, Leap checks the patient's eligibility based on the number of days you have configured in step 4 below.

  • For last-minute appointments added to the schedule within your check window (ones that are scheduled after the initial check has been run), Leap checks the patient's eligibility at 7pm Pacific time the day the appointment was scheduled.

  • If Leap has already checked a patient's insurance eligibility in the last 7 days, we won't automatically check their insurance again since chances of their insurance benefits changing in that short window is slim.

  1. Click Settings from the menu on the left and select Practice Settings.

  2. Select Insurance Verification.

  3. Slide the Enable Automation toggle to the right (orange).

  4. Optional: Leap defaults to automatically verifying insurance 2 days prior to a patient's appointment. Use the down arrow Down arrow icon. to change this. You can set Leap to verify insurance up to 7 days in advance.

  5. Click Save Settings. You'll see a message at the bottom of your screen letting you know your updates were saved.
