Editing a Text Template for an Appointment Reminder
Use the instructions below to edit text templates used for appointment reminders.
Click Settings from the menu on the left and select Practice Settings.
Select Patient Reminders.
Select the appointment reminder you'd like to edit by clicking on the blue text.
Click Edit at the confirmation window to open the template.
Make any changes needed. Optional: To automatically include personalized information like patient names or practice information, place your cursor where you want the information inserted. Then, click the Merge Tag menu and select the merge tag you want to include. For example, using the Patient preferred name tag automatically inserts each patient's preferred name so they receive a personalized message. Refer to Merge Tags for Text Messages for a complete list of merge tags you can use.
Note
The Family Members & Family Appointments merge tags are only available for the following templates: Confirmation - Text Message, Confirmation Auto-Reply, and Same Day - Text Message. Since these two merge tags are similar we recommend using only one of these in your template.
Optional: Add automated forms to your reminder templates:
For New Patient Welcome Text only: To automatically include a link so new patients can fill out their new patient paperwork, click the + Form/Package button and select the form or package you want to include.
For Confirmation and Same Day Reminders only: If you add an Automated Forms link to these reminders, Leap will attach any forms you've set for automation, if the patient is due for them. To include this link in the reminder template, just click the Automated Forms button.
Click Save Template. A message displays at the bottom of the screen letting you know the updates were successfully saved.
