Manually Setting a Patient’s Insurance Eligibility
If you have Yapi Leap's Insurance Verification feature on your plan, you can always set a patient's eligibility status manually. For example, if you have Insurance Verification but your patient has an insurance that's not on the Leap's list of payers, you can contact the patient's insurance directly and still mark their eligibility in Leap for your records. To update a patient's eligibility status manually, click one of the links below.
To update a patient's eligibility status manually from the homepage, follow the steps below.
On the homepage, click the date at the top of the page and select the date your patient is scheduled for. Or, if the appointment is today, click Today.
Find the patient's appointment on the homepage. If you're on today's schedule, you may need to navigate between the Scheduled, In Office and Checked Out tabs to find it.
Click the patient's name.
Under the patient's insurance name, click the down arrow
next to their current status (Eligible, Not Eligible, Unknown, or Error) and select a new status (Eligible or Not Eligible).
To update a patient's eligibility status manually from their profile, follow the steps below.
Search for a patient in the Patient Finder and click to open their Profile page.
Click on the Insurance tab.
Scroll down to the insurance you want to set eligibility for (Primary Insurance or Secondary Insurance).
At the top of that section, click the down arrow on the insurance's current eligibility status (Eligible, Not Eligible, Unknown, or Error) and select a new status (Eligible or Not Eligible).
