Important Updates from Insurance Providers

Leap displays insurance eligibility information based on the information provided to us by each insurance provider. Sometimes individual payers will notify us that they've identified a known issue or have made an important update that may impact your ability to check insurance status. This page includes information sent to us by insurance providers so you can be aware of any recent changes.

Notifications we've receive from insurance providers:

  • Delta Dental of Arkansas Individual - ARIND is now Delta Dental of Arkansas Individual - WDENC

    • Submitters of Eligibility transactions may be experiencing failed transactions. We have been notified that as of April 1, 2025, processing for this payer has moved to Wyssta/Encara (Payer ID WDENC). Members will be receiving new member ID cards. Transactions submitted under the old member IDs will fail.

  • Horizon Blue Cross Blue Shield of New Jersey - Payer 22099 10-character limit announcement

    • Horizon Blue Cross Blue Shield of New Jersey has advised that their enrollment file has a 10-character limit to the first name field due to a system limitation. Eligibility Requests with a first name exceeding the 10-character limit will result in an AAA*Y**42*R (Unable to Respond at the Current Time).

      • Example: CHRISTOPHER would need to be sent as CHRISTOPHE

    • The payer has no current plan to update this on their end.

    • We are working with our third-party vender to determine what we can do to lessen the impact.

  • Horizon Blue Cross Blue Shield of New Jersey - Payer 22099 eligibility responses announcement

    • There is an increase in eligibility responses AAA*Y**42*R (Unable to Respond at Current Time) from Horizon. Per the payer, there are groups that have a privacy setting preventing eligibility information from being shared via an eligibility transaction.

    • If you receive an AAA rejection that you believe is incorrect, please contact the customer service number on the back of the patient ID card.

    • The payer is working to correct the rejection wording, however there is no ETA available at this time.

    • Known Impacted Group Numbers: 0608A3, 076247, 08501X, 044881, 03186V

  • Blue Cross Blue Shield - Payer CBTN1 no medical policy issue

    • If the member doesn't have a medical policy, insurance verification checks will returned Inactive. The payer is working on fixing this but currently has no timeline on resolution.

  • Humana Payer - Payer 73288 - space in field IDs

    • If there's a space in the ID fields, the insurance verification check will fail. The payer is working on stripping out the space to prevent this issue.

  • Guardian Life Insurance Co - Payer 64246 - timeout rate

    • Guardian is seeing an 85% time out rate before 11am EST due to traffic. From 11am - 5pm EST, there’s only a 5-10% time out rate.
