Getting Set Up in Yapi Leap: A Catch-Up Checklist

If you've already been migrated to Yapi Leap but haven't used it in awhile, you may be missing out on features you didn't even know you had! We've created a checklist so you can get up and running with your new features fast. Just follow the steps below to make sure you're caught up and all your Leap features are ready to use.

Tip

Just to keep things straight: Yapi Leap is our new web application and Yapi Classic refers to our older products including the Yapi Dashboard (on your desktop) and POP (the Practice Online Portal).

HIDDEN: Online Scheduling (If Your Plan Has It) - New Feature Added October, 2023

  1. HIDDEN In Eaglesoft:

    1. Check your schedule to see if it's set up the way you want and make any needed adjustments.

    2. Check your PMS Name: Blockout feature (if you're using it) to make sure it's set up the way you want.

  2. In Leap: Set up Leap's Online Scheduling.

  3. If you've never used online scheduling before through Yapi, send your practice's scheduling link and/or the script for your online scheduling widget to your web developer so they can add it to your practice website.

Forms

  1. In Leap: Check out Leap's form templates and grab all the ones you want to use. The wording and questions in these forms are the same as the ones that came with Yapi Classic, give or take a couple spelling and title corrections.

  2. In your desktop Dashboard: Check over any custom forms External link. you have in Yapi Classic and if you want to continue using them, build them in Leap's Form Editor.

  3. On your tablets and kiosks: If you have tablets and/or computers for patients to use for for filling out forms, make sure you link each device in Leap. As you link each one, bookmark https://forms.mydentistsapp.com/ so patients can easily access the forms you assign.

  4. In your desktop Dashboard: If it's on, disable your New Patient Welcome email and/or text automation External link..

  5. Ask your web developer to remove the links to any Yapi forms or packages on your practice website.

  6. In Leap: If you already have Online Scheduling enabled, remove the adult and child package forms links from your General Settings.

Practice Information

  1. In Leap: Make sure your practice information is up to date in Leap's Practice Settings including your practice address, phone number, email, and website.

  2. In Leap: Select a text message number for Leap to use when your text your patients or send them reminders.

Appointment Reminders

  1. In Leap: Set up your Leap appointment reminders.

  2. In your desktop Dashboard: Disable your Yapi Classic appointment reminders External link.. You don't need these anymore!

Get to Leap Fast

  1. On your workstations: Create a taskbar icon or desktop shortcut for Leap so your team can open it in a flash!

You're All Set!

Now that you've configured all the newest features in Leap, make sure you're set up for success:

  • Instruct your team - Make sure your staff knows how to use the new features and logs in daily to use them.

  • Keep Leap up to date - We're always adding new features and when we do, we'll let you know right inside Leap. If you see a new feature's available, set it up right away so you don't forget.

  • Get help if you need it - If you or your team is having trouble with your setup or with using Leap, contact your Client Success Manager so we can get your the tools you need. We're here to help!
