Form Integration Between Leap & Open Dental
Several questions on Leap forms have the ability to sync information between the form and Open Dental. When patients answer these questions on a form, their information is automatically updated in Open Dental when the form is filed. When patients view a form, integrated questions will be pre-populate the patient's information from Open Dental. This allows them to quickly check and update the information if needed. What a time saver!
Leap has several questions that are automatically data-integrated: Patient Info, Contact Info, Medical Conditions, Allergies, & Medications. Other questions, like Dropdowns and Text Boxes can be data-integrated if they have a question tag attached. The table below shows where in Open Dental Leap updates (and pulls) patient information when a question tag is used on a question in the Form Editor.
Tip
Did you know that even custom forms can integrate with Open Dental? When creating a custom form, just add the appropriate tag to a Dropdown or Text Box question! You must use the correct type of question (dropdown or text box) in order to integrate with Open Dental. If you use any other type of question, Leap won't integrate with Open Dental.

*If you remove medical conditions, medications, or allergies from your Leap form or from your lists in Open Dental, they won't appear on future versions of the form, even if a patient selected them on a previous version.
